【句式剖析】

“The+比较级...,the+比较级...”意为“越……就越……”,第一个“The+比较级”是表示条件的状语从句(在表示将来意义时,从句用一般现在时表示将来);第二个“the+比较级”是主句。

The more you speak English,the better your English will become.

你说英语越多,你的英语水平就会越高。

The more a person reads,the wiser (wise) he will become.

【句式拓展】(1)“比较级+and+比较级”或“more and more+原级”表示“越来越……”。

Holiday flight tickets are getting less and less expensive.

假期的机票越来越便宜了。

(2)“the+比较级+of (the)+名词/代词”,表示“(两者中)较……的”。

Of the two cameras,I would prefer the smaller one,which is very easy for me to carry.

这两个照相机,我喜欢较小的一个,它容易携带。

现在分词和过去分词作宾语补足语

1.现在分词作宾语补足语和宾语之间存在逻辑上的主谓关系,强调动作在进行。常用在catch,feel,find,have,hear,keep,set,observe,see,watch等动词后。

The next thing he saw was smoke rising from behind the house.

接下来他看到的是烟雾从房子的后面冒出来。

The man was fired because he had been found smoking in the kitchen.

那个人被解雇了,因为他被发现在厨房里吸烟。

2.及物动词的过去分词作宾语补足语与宾语有逻辑上的被动关系,表示被动意义或已完成意义,有时候两者兼而有之。不及物动词用作宾语补足语时,与宾语没有逻辑上的动宾关系,只表示动作的完成或状态。

When I opened the door,I found the ground covered with snow.

当我打开门时,我发现地面被雪覆盖着。

We must take measures to keep nature balanced.

我们必须采取措施保持生态平衡。

They found all the guests gone when they woke up.

当他们醒来时,发现所有的客人都走了。
